Troubleshooting latency issues on a PC

I Recently had an issue with pops and clicks when playing back audio on my PC using Reason.  I was able to solve my problems by upgrading the BIOS and unplugging an external VGA to USB adapter.  It turns out that all USB devices compete for the same bandwidth.  I ended up using an application called LatencyMon to narrow down the driver that was causing the issue.
